The OdysseyA Private Tutorial

Before our first meeting, we’ll choose a central question—about storytelling, identity, intimacy, power, mortality, homecoming, or another line of inquiry that gives the five weeks their shape.

I’ll then create an individualized path through the poem: key passages, historical and literary context, selected comparisons among translations, and questions for each conversation. We may move through all twenty-four books or dwell more deeply in a smaller set of episodes, depending on the inquiry.

Each 90-minute Zoom meeting combines concise framing, close reading, and sustained conversation. You may bring a short reflection or passage note when useful, but formal assignments, grading, written editing, and assessment are not part of the tutorial.
